Eight years.

That is how long I had the privilege of visiting these walls as a student, nearly half of my life. A time marked by historical crises, fundamental changes, and technological upheavals. The coming years will also be as eventful as the previous ones, because ahead of us lies a stage in which education must be fundamentally rethought in order to continue to exist meaningfully and forward-looking. But such eventful times bring one thing in particular with them, namely change. And with changes come opportunities: opportunities for a school of tomorrow that improves and expands. However, this is only guaranteed if there are also students who advocate for it.

For three years, I had the pleasure of representing you as Student Representative and one as State Student Representative, and that made one thing particularly clear to me: only if we all get involved together and it is our concern to improve the future can we truly achieve the most positive change. In a time of political apathy and strong change, it is essential that we students actively advocate for a better school, and this begins in the student representation. That is also why we are a team of six this year, consisting of Carmen Engele, Zacharias Mähner, Maximilian Mück, Philipp Luu, Silvester Schwaighofer, and myself. There was no lack of excitement here either, because we were able to implement a lot or prevent some ill-considered ideas, but we treated one focus topic with a lot of passion. We have created sustainable structures and systems as well as databases to facilitate the work of all future student representations and to preserve the accumulated knowledge.

Because this is where our gaze as a student body must also be; it takes a strong and effective student representation that represents all the concerns of the students and can also represent them strongly to the outside in order to create a truly balanced and great school.
