Eight years.

That is how long I had the privilege of visiting these walls as a student, almost half of my life. A time marked by historical crises, fundamental changes, and technological upheavals. The coming years will be as turbulent as the previous ones, because ahead of us lies a stage in which education must be fundamentally rethought in order to continue to exist meaningfully and in a forward-looking manner. But such turbulent times bring one thing above all, namely change. And with change comes opportunity: opportunities for a school of tomorrow that improves and expands. However, this is only guaranteed if there are also students who stand up for it.

For three years I had the joy of representing you as head boy and one year as state student representative, and that has shown me one thing in particular: Only if we all get involved together and care about improving the future, can we truly achieve the most positive change. In a time of political apathy and strong change, it is essential that we students actively advocate for a better school, and this starts in the student council. That is also why we are a team of six this year, consisting of Carmen Engele, Zacharias Mähner, Maximilian Mück, Philipp Luu, Silvester Schwaighofer, and myself. There was no lack of excitement here either, as we were able to implement many things or prevent many an ill-considered idea, but we treated one focus topic with a lot of passion. We have created sustainable structures and systems as well as databases to facilitate the work of all future student councils and also to preserve the accumulated knowledge.

Because this is where our focus as a student body must be; it takes a strong and effective student council that represents all the concerns of the students and can also represent them strongly to the outside world in order to create a truly balanced and great school.
